My goal with making this title sequence for the movie, "Mr. Bean's Holiday" was to reflect the speed and humor of the film while also reflecting the De Stijl art movement. The plot of the movie flows quickly from each stupidly funny event to the other. The De Stijl movement is an abstract form of a basic and geometric build. The humor of the movie is so dumb, yet unordinary that it perfectly pairs with the abstract form of De Stijl. The movie's plot is basic, as is the basis of De Stijl.
From the start of the project, I knew it would evolve a great amount from my initial sketches to the final sequence. I enjoy creating animatics prior to jumping right into the final motion. It assists in visualizing the final product in a short matter of time without fully designing each element.
